About TYA
And suddenly journalism was born at TSA in 2013 and it´s here to invigorate our thinking…
As the song says, “lightning crashes and a new mother cries”…that’s exactly how it all started with eight multifaceted students holding hands during a brainstorm to deliver a newborn project, with their vibrant writing through their pulsing pens. That’s exactly howThe Yurt Alert was born; with music, rhythm, cadence and a cascade of words it suddenly emerged like fire. And the students embraced it with all their enthusiasm and creativity.
Eights students deconstructed and altered their realities with the written word and reinvented themselves through language, understanding journalism as the art of non-conformity and transformation.
So, yes indeed, The Yurt Alert was born to encourage critical thinking among the community and to debate ideas with scrutiny and integrity.
